The ED works in conjunction with the Regional Poison Control Center housed within the Children’s of Alabama.*Children’s provides 24/7/365 valet services for patient families visiting our Emergency Department located at the corner of 5th Avenue South and 16th Street. If space is available, the caregiver's stay may be extended for up to 10 days. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to stay in the facility. Visitors are allowed during the hours the front desk is open ( a.m. In addition to these practical services, the Hope Lodge offers programs to help you learn how to manage the physical, emotional and practical challenges cancer brings. If a patient is admitted to the hospital during their stay at the facility, the guest's room will be held for up to three days. All visitors must sign in at the front desk and wear a Visitor pass. For clinics within 5 miles from the Lodge the guest must be ready for pick up by . each day, free laundry facilities including soap, kitchen facilities and complimentary dinners at least once a week. One cancer patient, 18 years old and older, and one adult caregiver per room are eligible to stay at Hope Lodge under the following conditions: Patients What to bring: • Toiletries – soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. If a new patient needs the room, the caregiver will be asked to make other housing arrangements. Children are welcome to visit during visiting hours.
